Porcelain veneers that do not require removing excess tooth structure
Lumineers by Cerinate is a terrific cosmetic solution for permanently stained, chipped, discolored, misaligned teeth, or even to revitalize old crown and bridgework. Lumineers are a porcelain veneer that can be made as thin as a contact lens and is placed over existing teeth without requiring removal of sensitive tooth structure (unlike traditional veneers.)
A Lumineer is a porcelain laminate (often called a veneer) – a thin shell of porcelain that covers the front of each tooth. Lumineers bond directly to the front of the tooth, similar to the way artificial fingernails work. Each Lumineer is a work of art, carefully crafted in a laboratory to fit your individual smile.
In the hands of our dentists, Lumineers can provide you with an incredibly natural, beautiful smile. They are virtually undetectable and can dramatically improve your appearance. They are durable and long-lasting. And, best of all, unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers do not require the removal of sensitive tooth structure.
Although they are highly durable, Lumineers (like other veneers) are not permanent. Well crafted Lumineers have been clinically proven to last up to 20 years, but will eventually need to be replaced.
Lumineers are an excellent investment. However, they are not appropriate for teeth with excessive decay. In those cases, porcelain crowns are the only alternative. In the event that you desire only to improve tooth alignment, orthodontic treatment may be another alternative.
